What types and strengths of perfume are there?

It can sometimes be confusing to understand what exactly each type of perfume means and which one to choose, below is a quick summary to help you get started!

The strength of a perfume has to do with the amount of fragrance oil in the perfume. In general, the more fragrance oil is in it, the longer the scent will linger on your skin.

When we talk about the concentrations of essential oils in the different categories, this only applies to natural perfumes where the essential oils are guaranteed to be made directly from pure essential oils. In other common perfumes, these fragrance combinations are made from synthetic "perfume extracts" and are often completely artificial and not natural. Some of these "perfume extracts" may even come from animals.

So, it's always important to check the ingredients and certifications of the perfumes you buy to ensure they are all-natural and vegan, if that matters to you.

Is it true that a perfume can smell different on me than on someone else?

That's possible. Each person has his or her own unique scent. This is because our skin has different pH values. What may be perceived as a pleasant smell to one person may be considered unpleasant to another.

Can you mix perfumes?

That is possible, but it is advisable to first delve into the concept of layering because not all combinations of scents have a positive end result.

Perfume layering involves layering multiple perfume products with different scent notes to create a more complex and personalized scent. For example, by combining perfume, body lotion and oil, you can make the scent last longer and penetrate deeper into the skin. The result is a unique fragrance experience that suits your personal style and preference.

How and where do you apply perfume?

Applying perfume is an art in itself, because the right technique and placement can ensure that the scent lasts longer and is better expressed. Here is a brief explanation of how and where to apply perfume:

1. Pulse Points: The best places to apply perfume are on your pulse points, where your skin is warmer and the scent disperses well. These points are usually on the inside of your wrists, the sides of your neck, behind your ears, on your décolleté and on the inside of your elbows. The warmth in these areas helps activate and disperse the scent.

2. Don’t rub: When applying perfume, don’t rub your wrists together. This can break up the scent molecules and change the scent. Instead, gently pat your wrists together to disperse the scent.

3. Don’t spray into the air and walk through it: Spraying perfume into the air and then walking through it is a waste of perfume and will not lock the scent onto your skin. It is best to apply it directly to your skin.

4. Beware of Clothing:Although perfume can be applied to clothing, it can damage or leave stains on some fabrics. If you want to wear perfume on clothing, test it on an inconspicuous area first.

5. Pay attention to your skin type:Perfume can react in different ways to different skin types. Dry skin can cause the scent to fade more quickly, while oilier skin can retain the scent longer. Experiment with the amount you apply and how often, depending on your skin type.

6. Less is more:Excessive use of perfume can be overpowering and disturbing to others. Stick to a few sprays or drops and adjust according to the concentration of the perfume.

The most important thing is to remember that perfume should be subtle and add a personal touch to your style and personality. With the right technique and placement, you can ensure that your perfume lasts all day long and leaves an unforgettable impression.

Is there an expiration date on perfume?

Perfume is one of those wonderful luxury products that we cherish, but what happens to perfume over time? Does it have an expiration date?

Yes, perfume does have an expiration date, but it's not a hard and fast rule like it is with food. Instead, the lifespan of perfume depends on several factors, including its composition, storage, and exposure to light and heat.

In general, properly stored perfumes can last several years or even decades without significantly losing quality. Here are some tips to extend the life of your perfume:

  1. Storage: Store your perfume bottles in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature changes. Bathrooms, due to the fluctuating humidity and temperature, are not ideal for perfume storage.
  2. Original packaging: The original box in which the perfume was sold can help protect it from light and air. If you still have the box, keep it in there.
  3. Sealed cap: Make sure the cap of the perfume bottle is tightly closed when not in use. This prevents air from affecting the scent.
  4. Fragrance composition: Some perfumes, especially those with a high content of natural ingredients, can change over time. Check the scent regularly to see if it is still to your liking.
  5. Test your perfume: If your perfume is older, you can test a small amount on your skin to see if the scent is still intact before applying it liberally.

Keep in mind that the shelf life of perfume varies from brand to brand and even from fragrance to fragrance. Some fragrances can last longer than others due to the specific ingredients and composition. In general, however, if stored properly, perfume can provide many years of pleasure without sacrificing quality.

Are there conditions when using promotion & promotional codes?

Yes, here is all the information at a glance:

1. These conditions are intended for all PetitParfums promotions and promotional codes.

2. Promotional codes can only be used at PetitParfums. Promotions are only valid on perfumes and samples, or a specific part of our collection, as stated in the applicable promotion.

3. Promotional codes cannot be used for open orders.

4. Promotional codes are valid once per customer.

5. Some promotional codes cannot be used in combination with offers or other promotions. 

6. Promotional codes are temporary in nature.

7. Promotional codes cannot be exchanged for cash. You cannot use a promotional code to get a discount on products other than the products for which the relevant promotion applies.

8. Promotional codes are issued once. No reimbursement will be made in the event of theft or loss. Loss also includes (accidentally) deleting the email with the relevant promotional code.

9. In the event of fraud, PetitParfums has the right to waive the discount. Fraud includes hacking, phishing, spamming and brute forcing. Any (attempted) fraud or other unauthorized action will be registered and will result in the use of the promotional codes being denied.

10. It is not permitted to resell promotional codes in any way without PetitParfums being aware of this.

11. During the promotion, the promotional codes will be provided randomly by Petitparfums.

These conditions apply to the use of all Parfumswinkel promotional codes. If you use our promotional code, you automatically agree to these conditions and you must adhere to them.

How do I add a promo code?

It's always nice to use a promotional code on your order, but how does that actually work?

Below all the info:

You can enter the promotional code in yourshopping cart.

1. You can always find the conditions for a code on the website or in the email you receive from us with a discount. 

2. You can use multiple promotional codes per order, unless we have stated otherwise.

3. Your promotional code is only valid online at PetitParfums, unless stated otherwise.

4. Your promotional code is valid until the stated end date.

5. You can only use your promotional code once.

6. You cannot exchange the promotional code for money.

7. We do not refund money for an exchange.

8. Any remaining amount will be forfeited.

Why isn't my promo code working?

Sometimes it happens that a promotional code does not work. Common causes include:

1. You have not reached the minimum order amount. Many promotional codes are only valid from a minimum amount. 

2. You have a product in your shopping cart to which the promotional code does not apply. Some promotional codes are only valid on specific products. 

3. You have combined multiple promotional codes or promotions. This is not always possible.

Delivery

What is the delivery time?

We do our best to deliver the order to you as quickly as possible.

For samples orders received on working days before 12:00 apply, we try to ship the order the same day.

However, we are not always able to achieve this; sometimes products are not in stock, so the delivery of your order may take a little longer.

For complete bottles the expected delivery time per product is stated under the heading delivery time.

Delivery is via the postman or parcel delivery from various parcel services. In general, delivery will take place the next working day between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the time of delivery.

Do I have to pay shipping costs?

The prices stated do not include shipping costs.

Where is my package?

As soon as your package has been shipped out, you will receive an email from us with the track & trace code. Have you not received an email yet? Don't worry, your order is still being processed.

Have you already received a track & trace code, but has your package not yet been delivered? Then view the current status via this code to see where your package is. Sometimes it happens that a sorting error has been made and your package has been incorrectly sorted. This is often repaired automatically within two working days. 

Does the track and trace code state that the package has been delivered, but you have not received anything? We recommend that you inquire with your neighbors. It sometimes happens that the delivery person has delivered the package to the neighbors but has not left a note.

Returns & Cancellations

How can I return my order?

At Petit Parfums you have the option to return or exchange your order within 14 days from the delivery date.

If you decide to exchange or return a product, please send a completed return form to the email address info@petitparfums.nl

Important information about returns at a glance:

  • The return costs and liability are for your own account. Keep your return receipt until we have processed your return. 
  • Please note: we cannot process your return if the product has been opened or used. For complete perfume bottles, a sample will be sent that you can try first. If the seal of the perfume packaging is broken, we consider the product as opened/used. Therefore, always try the included sample first!
  • You will receive an email confirmation once we have received and processed the return. Please note that we will not refund the shipping costs of your original order.

How does the return work - all the information at a glance:

  • We will inform you in writing about the progress of your return, in particular about the acceptance, processing or rejection, via e-mail or WhatsApp. We can also contact you by telephone, but will always confirm the conversation in writing.
  • We will make a decision about your return without delay. Processing a return usually takes no longer than 30 days. In order to meet the above-mentioned deadline, you must provide us with the necessary cooperation.
  • When the return has been received, we will report this in writing. The amount will then be refunded to your account within 15 working days

I have received an incorrect or defective product, what now?

Could an error have been made while preparing your order or is the product defective/damaged? 

Please let us know by sending an email within 24 hours of receipt with the order number + a photo of the defective or incorrectly delivered product to: info@petitparfums.nl .

We will contact you as soon as possible by email, WhatsApp or telephone to find a suitable solution together.  When we call, we will always confirm the agreements made in writing.
